Home Sweet Office

Ben & Stephanie are searching for solutions to their "shared" home office.  Their current office is open to the front foyer, dining room, and a very active living room.  With 2 teens and their dog, "Trigger", they are looking for ideas to close off the room for quiet and privacy.  Working from home, especially during Covid-19, called for organization.  Ben's large collection of medical books needed a home.

Since the office was open to many rooms, the color scheme needed to blend in with the rest of the home.  The major obstacle in the office was the open doorways and lack of essential lighting.  By installing french doors and stationary panes to the foyer opening, it allowed the light to still come into the room while adding privacy from the traffic.  Stationary fifteen panel doors were added to the living room opening to keep the light in the room but still giving the room a much needed quiet space.  A new library of lighted bookcases were built along the FOCUS wall with a workstation of lower cabinets for storage.  In between the built in bookcases, shiplap painted with Sherwin Williams "Passive", was added as a contrast to the Sherwin Williams "Tricorn Black" library bookcases.  Along with the existing blinds, window treatments were added to each window across the front of the home.  Accessories were added to Ben's Constitution prints, medical certificates and desk organization.  Now, that's a Home Sweet Home Office anyone would like to spend time doing their job!
